Japan-gasm
What the fuck is with all the blind hand-job loving that Japan seems to get in a variety of topics? I'm really tired of all the love anything Japanese seems to get regarding videogames.
What if I'm not a fan of jRPG games?
What if I find the endless iterations of Mario and Zelda tiresome, especially if I missed the first games in the series to start with?
What if I want a game with a compelling story and more meat than just some silly rhythm based minigame?
Sorry, I don't get it. I don't see it. Is this some fallback to the old days where the Japanese companies were the only ones developing game consoles? (Genesis, SNES, et al). Can it be attributed simply to fanboyism?
I took the liberty of downloading an playing Chrono-Trigger (yeah I know I broke the law by playing a rom) because there is so much fanboy love for this game but I'm sorry I just don't see it. The story is pretty lame really and the combat requires so little mental capacity a monkey could play it. So why all the love? Nostaliga?
Quite frankly I wish that Microsoft wouldn't even have released the 360 in Japan, I think their efforts would have been much better spent tacking Europe (with exception to France) where their gaming tastes seem to be a lot more like North America (at least from a PC gamers perspective).
