Simulated

I don't normally like sim games, I've tried my share of them in the past.
Pegasus for the C64:

Indy 500 on the Amiga:

A10 Tank Killer on the Amiga

They all just got sort of old after a while. Perhaps it was the sterile environment, the fact that there was no online community to discuss the game, who knows really.
Forza 2 for me however is probably the best sim game I've ever played. The cars just feel right, they feel authentic. Probably because the force feedback in the wheel is done so well (though I do wish I could boost the power just a little higher).
I'm not saying I'm actually any good at the game, just that I'm really enjoying it. I like the micromanagement aspect of racing, I like being able to tweak my car by buying parts and feeling that the parts I am putting on my vehicle actually make a difference. In some ways it has an RPG type feel to the game because after you win a few close races (if you don't boost your car well past the ranking of other vehicles you're racing against) you feel an attachment to your vehicle, like you would with your character in an RPG. I haven't gotten very far in the game at this point but by judging at all the people on my friends list playing Forza2 I think it's safe to say that other people feel similarly.
